XTrack is a partnership between KEEPTrack LLC, a New Hampshire based company made up of volunteer firefighters who are dedicated to improving the safety and accountability of fire scenes; and RealTime Technology Group a software development and automated data collection.

As firefighters the members of KEEPTrack LLC saw the limitations of cow tag accountability systems and knew that there had to be a better way.  First developed in 2000, XTrack was the pioneer in using barcoding for accountability in fire scenes.  KEEPTrack believed in the concept so much they registered a patent for it (Patent No. 6,029,889).  XTrack was an immediate success with the new technology being implemented in fire stations across North America.

With the introduction of the National Incident Management System (N.I.M.S.) and similar state and provincial legislation strengthening the requirements for incident reporting and personnel accountability in emergency situations KEEPTrack realized that XTrack needed a makeover.

In early 2005 KEEPTrack partnered with RealTime Technology Group to develop the next generation XTrack.  RealTime Technology Group is a twelve year old company specializing in the development and implementation of applications using handheld computers with integrated scanners.  As part of the Symbol Technologies Partner Program, RealTime Technology Group had developed many applications utilizing the same hardware platform as required for XTrack.  As Inventory Control specialists it was also second nature for RealTime Technology Group to include XTrack Inventory into the latest release.

KEEPTrack is responsible for sales and distribution of XTrack products while RealTime Technology Group is responsible for all development and technical support of the products.
